Mix & Match with Other Products!
Unlike many systems that only work with that particular company’s other products, the MakerPort is specifically designed to be as inclusive as possible, and works with the both almost all generic and other vendor’s company-specific add-ons, activities and lesson plans, including those from Arduino, Makey Makey, Hummingbird, BBC micro:bit, LEGO, Chibitronics, and many more*!
The MakerPort supports and uses:
• Non-proprietary connectors, sensors and activators (motors, servos, LEDs, etc.)
• Non-proprietary coding language (MicroBlocks)
• Non-proprietary lesson plans
(in the sense that our lesson plans and activities can be used with other products,
although some adaptation is required because our connections are usually much easier!)
* Depending on the company and product, some add-ons may be physically incompatible with the MakerPort, and lessons & activities may need some adaptation, but in general the MakerPort can be used with many different products.
